Suzanne Allmon
OAK GROVE HIGH SCHOOL THEATRE DIRECTOR
For the past 28 years, Suzanne Allmon has been the Director at Oak Grove High School. She has directed over 175 productions at Oak Grove. She received her B.F.A in Theatre, M.Ed. in Gifted Education from William Carey University, and received her M.F.A in Theatre Education from Mississippi University for Women.
She has held the office of President of Just Over The Rainbow Community Theatre, MTA Theatre for Youth Chair, MTA Secondary Chair, MTA Treasurer, MTA Vice President, and MTA President, and SETC's Secondary Divison Chair. She is the Chair of the Fine Arts Department at Oak Grove.
She is the teacher of all theatre courses and the School Sponsor/Director of all theatrical competitions and productions. Mrs. A has also written plays that have represented Mississippi on every level of competition. "Mrs. A" has won Best Director on every level of competition and has adjudicated other state festivals and the SETC Secondary Festival.
We are also very proud that Mrs. A was named the Thad Cochran Distinguished Arts Educator in Theatre in 2010, won the Alan R. Barton award for excellence in teaching in 2013, the AIM Award for Outstanding Theatre Educator in 2018, STAR Teacher in 2022, was awarded The Stephen Cunetto Award for Outstanding Contributions to Theatre in Mississippi in 2024!
