Oak Grove productions of Midsummer Night's Dream (1997) , Subway Circus ( 2000), Crow and Weasel (2005), The Crane Wife (2007), Tales of Trickery ( 2008),  Jungalbook(2012), In A Grove: Three Japanese Ghost Stories (2013) Zhengtu (2015), See Ya At the Savoy (2016), and Failure:A Love Story(2017) received the highest honor of the Dominic Cunetto Award for Best Production. Oak Grove also has won Runner Up to represent MS. Arabian Nights (2014) and The Axeman's Requiem ( 2019) and were chosen to represent MS. at the Southeastern Theatre Conference (SETC). In 2014, Oak Grove was chosen as Runner Up Best Production with our production of Arabian Nights, which qualified them to represent MS. at the Southeastern Theatre Conference (SETC) as well.  Oak Grove is the only school in MS, to have represented 11 times at SETC. We have had 23 students receive All Star Cast, Overall Technical Excellence, 6 Judges Choice awards,one Best Director, and one Best Actor at SETC. The Crane Wife   won Runner -Up Best Production in 2007 and Tales of Trickery  won Best Production in 2008. Oak Grove is one of four schools from MS. who has won SETC!



Suzanne Allmon

 For the past 24 years, Suzanne Allmon has been the Director, Producer, Choreographer, and Costume maker for every Oak Grove production. She has directed over 175 productions at Oak Grove. 

She is Past President of Just Over The Rainbow Community Theatre, MTA Theatre for Youth Chair, MTA Secondary Chair, MTA Treasurer, MTA Vice President, and MTA President, and SETC's Secondary Divison Chair.   She is the Chair of the Fine Arts Department at Oak Grove.

 She is the teacher of all theatre courses and the School Sponsor/Director of all theatrical competitions and productions. "Mrs. A" has won Best Director on every level of competition and has adjudicated other state's festivals and the SETC Secondary Festival.

We are also very proud that Mrs. A was named the Thad Cochran Distinguished Arts Educator in Theatre in 2010, won the Alan R. Barton award for excellence in teaching in 2013, and the AIM Award for Outstanding Theatre Educator in 2018.

We help students to grow, develop their art through rigorous course work, and  create high quality stage productions that will prepare them for college and professional work.
